SANGRUR: Contrary to the bad trend of burning stubble after paddy harvesting, the farmers of Gujran village near Dirba are trying hard to save the environment by making straw bales. On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur, Sandeep Rishi to encourage these meaningful efforts of these farmers; SDM Dirba, Rajesh Sharma visited the fields of the Gujran village today.
On this occasion, SDM said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann has provided subsidy on baler machines to the farmers which proves to be very beneficial for them. He said that by collecting straw with baler, not only the farmers are getting additional income but also the laborers associated with them are getting a good income. He urged the farmers that instead of burning the stubble, they should contact their nearby baler, who will collect the stubble from their fields free of cost.

He said that the Punjab government gives huge subsidies on balers and the maximum number of farmers should take advantage of it.
