Kapurthala: Construction of STP at cost of Rs. 17.49 crores starts at Dhilwan and Nadala

Dhilwan Nadala : The Punjab government has started the work of Sewage Treatment Plants at a cost of Rs. 17.49 crores at Dhilwan and Nadala under the series of setting up of Sewage Treatment Plants in the towns. The cost of the Sewage Treatment Plant at Dhilwan will be Rs. 6.99 crores and at Nadala Rs. 10.50 crores. The formal work of these sewage treatment plants was inaugurated by Aam Aadmi Party in-charge Advocate Harsimran Singh.


He said that the sewage treatment plant at Dhilwan has a capacity of 2 MLD, which will clean the sewage water of the entire Dhilwan and directly benefit 9 to 10 thousand population.
The sewage treatment plant at Nadala has a capacity of one MLD and will benefit about 8 thousand population. Through this, the water of Nadala town will be cleaned and made suitable for irrigation.


On the occasion of laying the foundation stone, Advocate Harsimran Singh said that Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Local Government Minister Dr. Under the leadership of Ravjot Singh, development works in the municipal councils and municipal panchayats are being carried out on a war footing, under which the work of sewage treatment plants has been started at Dhilwan and Nadala.


He said that the work of laying the sewerage line at Dhilwan has been 100 percent completed, while the water purified through this will be used for irrigation along with the sewage treatment plant.


He also said that in the next few days, other development works like streets, street lights etc. are also being started at Dhilwan and Nadala so that better facilities can be provided to the people in these municipal panchayats.


Superintendent Engineer of Sewerage Board Ashish Rai said that the work of these plants will be completed by the board within a year. The water purified through these will be used for irrigation in about 50 acres. On this occasion, Exc. Arvind, SDO Rajwinder Singh and others were present.
