Chandigarh: Senior IAS officer Vivek Joshi took charge as Haryana Chief Secretary today.Earlier, Anurag Rastogi was handling the work of acting Chief Secretary.Vivek Joshi, a 1989 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Haryana.
According to an official order of the state government, Joshi has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the state government on his joining the Haryana cadre.
Vivek Joshi was posted as Secretary, the Department of Personnel and Training in the Central Government. On the special request of the Haryana government, on October 26, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) decided to send him back to his parent cadre (Haryana).
Vivek Joshi was born on 21 May 1966 in UP. Joshi did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee and then earned his Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade from IIFT, New Delhi.
After this, he did his MA and PhD in Domestic Economics from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
