Chandigarh, November 15, 2024: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has strongly responded to the statement made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the new Vidhan Sabha of Haryana in Chandigarh. Saini said that the Punjab Government should focus on the welfare of farmers instead of diverting the attention of people from real issues by making such statements. He reiterated that Haryana also has a right over Chandigarh and urged Punjab's leaders to avoid indulging in petty politics over the matter of the Vidhan Sabha.

The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference here today. MLAs namely Ram Kumar Gautam, Randhir Panihar, Vinod Bhayana and Devendra Kadian were also present on the occasion.

He said that the Punjab Chief Minister claimed that he would not allow the Haryana Vidhan Sabha to be built in Chandigarh. Nayab Singh Saini, while advising Bhagwant Mann, urged the Punjab government to work in the interest of people. Saini reminded that Haryana is the younger brother of Punjab. Therefore, do not create animosity or spoil the brotherhood by making such statements. He further criticized the Punjab government for failing to purchase crops from its farmers and for not ensuring the payment of the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He called on the Punjab government to prioritize the betterment of its farmers and work towards improving their condition, instead of diverting public attention by making statements on the construction of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should focus on addressing the issues in Punjab and not to concern himself with Haryana's matters

Nayab Singh Saini said that the Punjab government should take concrete steps in the interest of its farmers. He advised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to focus on addressing the pressing issues in Punjab and not to concern himself with Haryana's matters. Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that misleading statements only divert attention from real concerns and urged Mann to refrain from such remarks. He said that driven by political motives, the leaders of Punjab had first stopped Haryana's SYL water and now they are talking about stopping the Haryana Vidhan Sabha from being built. The people of Punjab share a strong bond with Haryana and want Haryana should get SYL water. He expressed disappointment with the cheap politics being played by some Punjab leaders.

The public will teach a lesson to the Punjab government

While taking a dig at the Punjab Government, Nayab Singh Saini said that the previous governments in Punjab have indulged in the same kind of politics. He criticized Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for failing to work in the best interest of the people of Punjab, pointing out that they are the two sides of the same coin. He said that people are well aware of the truth and will teach a lesson to the Punjab Government.

Congress leaders talked extensively, but did not work on the ground. As a result, farmers are deeply disillusioned with the Congress party

The Chief Minister said that while Congress leaders talked extensively, they did not work on the ground. As a result, the farmers are deeply disillusioned with the Congress party. He said that Congress lacked policy and intention. In contrast, he said, the Haryana government has both the policy and the intention to support and uplift farmers, and is continuously working toward that goal. He said that farmers in Punjab were forced to block roads just to sell their crops. Even then, many of them were unable to sell their produce and did not receive the payment on Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Nayab Singh Saini said that the present State Government has always prioritized the welfare of farmers and worked tirelessly to strengthen and empower them. He said that even during the elections, the dedicated efforts of government officers ensured that every grain of the farmers' produce was purchased. The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for the officers, stating that their hard work and commitment deserve heartfelt congratulations.
