Jalandhar: In a significant move towards governance reform, the Punjab Government has introduced an online service for counter-signing documents, eliminating the need for applicants to visit physical offices. Dr. Aggarwal emphasized that documents submitted for this service will be verified online by officials in Chandigarh and New Delhi, saving applicants the hassle of traveling to these locations. He added that this step would significantly reduce the time and cost associated with the process, benefiting those who previously had to visit state and national capitals for counter signatures.
Terming the reform as revolutionary, Dr. Aggarwal stated that it marks a new milestone in delivering citizen services efficiently. Applicants can now complete the process online by paying a nominal fee with services provided within a stipulated time frame.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the ongoing Sarkar Tuhade Dwar initiative, which brings government services to people’s doorsteps. He noted that the new online counter-signing service is a further extension of this initiative, allowing applicants to access essential services without visiting any government office in Chandigarh or New Delhi.
