Phagwara/Chandigarh: Local Bodies Minister of Punjab Dr. Ravjot Singh on Tuesday stated that the Punjab government has developed a comprehensive plan to ensure that 100% of the urban population has access to drinking water.

During the foundation-laying ceremony for a water supply project worth Rs. 4.35 crore in Phagwara, Dr. Singh stated that all municipal corporations and councils have been instructed to conduct special surveys to identify areas facing water supply shortages. The project will involve the installation of a 9-kilometer-long pipeline and the provision of more than 1,000 household water supply connections.

Dr. Singh also urged MC Commissioner Navneet Kaur Bal to closely monitor the project to ensure its timely completion.

Notable attendees at the event included former minister and AAP leader Joginder Singh Mann, District Planning Board Chairperson Lalit Saklani, Improvement Trust Chairman Kashmir Singh, and AAP spokesperson Harnoor Singh.
