Kurukshetra: While speaking as a Chief Guest in a multidisciplinary national seminar on 'Women Leadership and Development' organized by Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra in collaboration with ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre, Punjab University,Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that woman power is the living symbol of dedication, service and wisdom. Women leadership empower communities and inspire change. Prof Sachdeva added that history is replete with numerous evidence of the endless power of women and their courageous roles while remaining steadfast in adverse circumstances of life.
Women have proved their significance, specialty and scholarship from being a well mannered housewife to the ruling position of the parliament. Among the Vedic scholars of our country, from Gargi, Maitreyi Lopamudra to the influential personalities like Draupadi Murmu and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, all worked to enhance the prestige and dignity of India.
Dr. Rajendra Vidyalankar, OSD to the Governor of Gujarat, in the presidential address, said that according to the Vedic hymn in Indian culture, 'Stri hi Brahma babhuvitah' means that the main creative power of Brahma lies in the woman, she is the creator who is respected and revered everywhere in the form of Trideviyan.
KU ITTR Principal Prof. Anita Dua, as the keynote speaker, said that women leadership development does not only mean the economic development of women, but the concept of holistic development is the equal participation of women in every field while reducing the growing gender gap in society. Special guest Director ICSSR PU Chandigarh Dr. Upasana Joshi Sethi spoke about the immense potential of women in shaping and advancing social, economic and political progress.
On this occasion, Dr. Tulika Agarwal, college Principal Dr. Upasana Ahuja, seminar coordinator Anju Chawla, co-coordinator Dr. Suman Rajan, secretary Sapna, organizing council coordinators Dr. Himani and Dr. Reeja, along with 87 teachers and students from colleges of the state and various states were present.
