Jalandhar : In a strong demonstration of commitment to a drug-free society, NCC cadets from various educational institutions participated in an awareness rally against drug abuse, organized under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Jalandhar. The rally aimed to sensitize the youth and the public about the dangers of drug addiction and to promote a healthier, drug-free lifestyle. The rally commenced from Lyallpur Khalsa College and covered a 2-Kilometer strech, spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, who carried banners, placards, and slogans emphasizing the adverse effects of drug abuse.
Group Commander Brigadier Ajay Tewari Sena Medal lauded the cadets for their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause. Speaking on the occasion, he remarked, “This rally is not just a march; it is a message to society that youth must take a stand against the drug menace. The discipline and unity displayed by these cadets today reflect the power of collective action in building a healthier, drug-free nation."
He urged the cadets to become role models and ambassadors of a drug-free society. About 1000 cadets were part of the rally. The rally is part of a series of initiatives by NCC Group Headquarters, Jalandhar, aimed at promoting social responsibility and leadership among cadets.
The NCC remains committed to grooming disciplined, responsible, and aware citizens who contribute positively to society. The cadets encouraged citizens to stay away from drugs and promote a positive lifestyle.
The event reinforced NCC’s role in shaping responsible citizens and emphasized the need for a concerted effort to combat drug abuse. The event concluded with a pledge by all participants to stay away from drugs and to actively discourage their peers from substance abuse.
