Chandigarh : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor of AAP Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned for AAP candidate Gurdeep Singh Randhawa in Dera Baba Nanak.
Both the leaders addressed a huge rally and appealed to the people to support the AAP candidate. Kejriwal and Mann highlighted the work done by the AAP government in the last two and a half years and explained how it fulfilled its major election promises.
Urging the people to support Gurdeep Randhawa, Arvind Kejriwal said that two and a half years ago, you gave a historic mandate to the Aam Aadmi Party. Out of 117 seats, you gave us 92 seats, which is the highest in the history of Punjab.
He further said that before the AAP government, the people of Punjab were most troubled by their electricity bills. Some people had pending bills of up to Rs 2 lakh. We had promised you that we will waive off your old electricity bills and there will be no bills in future. We have fulfilled that promise. Now people are getting zero electricity bills.
We had said that we will make your treatment free. Today Aam Aadmi clinics are opening at various places across Punjab. Medicines and tests are being provided free of cost there.
All the government hospitals are being repaired and treatment is being provided free there too. Schools are being repaired all over Punjab. So far more than 45 thousand youth have got government jobs.
He said that about 4 to 5 children have got jobs in every village of Punjab. No money was taken from anyone and no one had to give recommendation. Earlier, government jobs were not available without recommendation and bribe. We made temporary employees permanent and the work of making employees permanent is still going on. Now government employees are not found at tanks. They are found at their work. Apart from this, our government has closed many toll plazas due to which people are saving lakhs of rupees every day.
Kejriwal said that when Gurdeep Randhawa will be elected MLA from Dera Baba Nanak, he will set up a biogas plant and sugar mill in Dera Baba Nanak which will provide employment to thousands of youth. Playgrounds and stadiums will be built to keep the youth healthy and away from drugs. An ITI-Polytechnic College will also be opened.
Kejriwal said that this election is between honest Randhawa and corrupt Randhawa. Because of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, people in Dera Baba Nanak are facing so many fake cases.
He said that Sukhjinder Randhawa only thinks about his family. That is why his wife is contesting this election. Whereas for Gurdeep Singh Randhawa, the people of Dera Baba Nanak are his family. He will work for you and solve your issues.

Addressing the people in Dera Baba Nanak, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attacked Congress leaders and said that they think politics is a business.
Mann said Arvind Kejriwal left his job to serve people. We have not come into politics for money. We are here to serve the people. He said Aam Aadmi Party is the fastest growing political party. In just 12 years we have governments in two states. We have MLAs in Gujarat, Goa and Jammu and Kashmir and 13 MPs. Mann said it is all because of the people. He stressed that in democracy all the power lies with the people. But traditional politicians think they are bigger than the public. Defeat their arrogance.
He said we use public money to provide facilities to the public. In just two and a half years we have opened more than 850 Aam Aadmi Clinics, where more than 2 crore people got treatment. We are improving the condition of government schools and hospitals. Attacking Partap Bajwa for setting up toll plazas as PWD minister, Mann said we have closed 16 toll plazas, saving people about Rs 62 lakh every day.
Mann said during the 2022 assembly elections, people of Dera Baba Nanak voted for Sukhjinder Randhawa, but as usual he did nothing for the constituency. Now after two and a half years, people have another chance. This time AAP candidate Sukhjinder Randhawa will be elected.

Mann said that traditional politicians think that they are bigger than the people. That is why they have become arrogant. He said that do not choose people who live in luxurious palaces. Choose people who live among you. Mann said that he needs the support of the people to end the drug problem in Punjab. If they know any person who is smuggling drugs, then inform about it immediately, we will take action.
Mann said that someone asked me about the delay in elections. I told him that earlier the opposition parties used to lose by 20-25 thousand votes, but now they will lose by 30-35 thousand votes.
