Una: After a long wait, the state-level Haroli Utsav is set to return with full grandeur, celebrating the region’s rich cultural and traditional heritage. The district administration has begun preparations to make the festival a memorable event, with Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal holding a meeting with officials at the Haroli BDO office to outline necessary arrangements.
Grand Procession to Inaugurate Festival at Kangar Ground The festival will be held at Kangar Ground in Haroli, with a spectacular procession on April 27 marking the official inauguration. The event is being organized as per the directives of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, with a strong focus on public participation.
From April 27 to 29, vibrant cultural evenings will be the festival’s highlight. During the day, students from local educational institutions and cultural groups will showcase colorful performances, while in the evenings, renowned Himachali and national-level artists will take the stage to entertain audiences.
Month-Long Trade Fair to Boost Local Businesses: A trade fair will run for an entire month at Kangar Ground, providing self-help groups and business enterprises from across the country a platform to display and sell their products. This initiative aims to support local entrepreneurship and boost trade opportunities.
Sports Competitions and Adventure Activities: To engage youth in positive activities and deter them from substance abuse, the festival will feature major wrestling and kabaddi tournaments. Additionally, adventure sports such as hot air ballooning and other thrilling activities will be introduced.
Special Attractions and Government Exhibitions: The festival will also include a livestock fair, dog show, and baby show. Various government departments will set up development exhibitions, informing the public about welfare schemes and achievements.
Committees Formed for Smooth Execution: To ensure seamless planning and execution, multiple organizing committees have been established. The Additional Deputy Commissioner has been designated as the fair officer, with different committees handling key responsibilities.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has directed officials to finalize the event layout and complete tender processes within the stipulated timeline. SDM Haroli Vishal Thakur assured that all necessary arrangements would be completed efficiently.
After the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, along with the SDM and other officials, conducted a field inspection of Kangar Ground, reviewing the preparations for the grand festival.
