Governor Punjab Calls For All out Efforts to Make Nation ‘Self Reliant India’

SAS Nagar: Punjab Governor, Sh Gulab Chand Kataria called for concerted efforts to make our Nation ‘Self Reliant India’ by contributing hard to be the number one economy of the world.


Addressing the graduation ceremony at the Indian School of Business, Mohali to the 180 successful students in Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy (AMPPP), for Healthcare (AMPH), in Operations and Supply Chain (AMPOS) and for Infrastructure (AMPI) streams, he said that they all have proud moments to graduating from the prestigious and premier institution of Asia in Business studies and now it’s their turn to set up high standards in their respective field of service, may it be in Public or Private sector.


Expressing his happiness having most of the degree holders are women, he said that the Education field is the only field that has no gender monopoly, one can rise high based on his/her hard work. Applauding their teachers for nurturing them to the existing status, he said that the contribution made by a teacher cannot be equated with any other talent.
He said that all the graduates and the premier institute Indian School of Business have a big challenge ahead to make our country ‘Atam Nirbhar Bharat’.


Now, it depends upon us, how this dream comes to be true. He expressed displeasure that despite 75 years of independence era, we have been still facing employment as a big issue in our country. We prefer public sector jobs over the challenging jobs that strengthen our Nation to stand alone in the world, said the Governor adding that we should light the lives of the underprivileged people to make them part of the combined journey of the Nation to the number one economy of the world. For this, we have to fill the gap that prevails in the society between the poor and rich.


He said that the Nation has given us a lot by educating us through schools, colleges and universities and now it is our turn to pay back the debt to the nation by acknowledging the strenuous efforts of transforming our country into the largest economy in the world by stepping up it from fifth position to first. He said that we should not wait for the stipulated deadline of 2047 to make our country, the world’s biggest economy; we can do it earlier by showing our strong commitment.


The Governor while applauding the ISB, dedicated by the first institution by late Sh. Atal Behari Vajpayee in 2001, said that Punjab was proud of housing the second one in 2012 at Mohali. He said that the international acclamation of the ISBs also stands high in its’ pass outs in the world having distinction in studies and curriculum.


The prominent among the graduates who were awarded degrees today included IAS Couple Rahul Bhandari and Rakhi Gupta Bhandari besides the Deputy Commissioner of SAS Nagar district, Mrs Aashika Jain.


Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Chairman of the Advisory Board to the ISB Mohali Campus, Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean, ISB and Professor Ramabhadran Thirumalai, Deputy Dean Mohali Campus and Associate Professor of Finance (Practice), ISB were also present during the degree award ceremony.
