CM Haryana Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated "One Student One Tree Plantation Mission" at Kurukshetra University

Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra in collaboration with Forest Department Kurukshetra Division Haryana organised Van Mahotsav Week 2024 with the theme "One Student One Tree Plantation Mission."


Hon'ble Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, while speaking as the Chief Guest of this programme said that tree plantation is an invaluable asset for the society. He highlighted the significance of tree plantation in maintaining the balance of Nature.


Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini further said that tree plantation is indispensable for the preservation of our ecosystem. Tree plantation helps stop climate change and reduce the effects of global warming.

Urban & Local Bodies Minister, Subhash Sudha said that due to increasing pollution in the environment, the need for tree plantation has increased these days. Tree plantation increases the amount of oxygen in the air. They purify the air, conserve water, help maintain soil strength and benefit the overall environment in many other ways.


Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, while welcoming Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Urban Local Bodies Minister Subhash Sudha, said that to promote environmental activities, many programmes related to environment are frequently organized in the university at the national level. Prof. Sachdeva further said that in this tree plantation mission the students of Kurukshetra University will plant 3000 trees in a day to conserve the environment.


On this occasion, Registrar Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, Prof. Anil Vashisth, Prof. A.R.Chaudhri, Director of Public Relations Department Prof. Maha Singh Poonia, Prof. Kusum, Prof. Neelam Dhanda, Dr. Hukam Singh Ranga, Prof. Vivek Chawla and other dignitaries were present.
