Baba Siddiqui's murder case linked to Haryana's Kaithal

Chandigarh: The murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, in Bandra, Mumbai has shaken the politics and crime world of Maharashtra. The police have so arrested two accused, who have been identified as Gurmel Baljit Singh and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap.

 

The search for the third accused in this murder is still on, and it is being said that the accused are associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

 

Gurmel Baljit Singh, who hails from village Narad in Kaithal district of Haryana, has previously been involved in a murder case and had gone to jail. After coming out on bail, he went to Mumbai, where he came in contact with Lawrence Bishnoi's henchmen.On the other hand, Dharamraj Kashyap is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and his age is said to be 19 years.

 

The incident has also activated the police of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, who are now gathering the background and other information of these accused in their respective states.

 

The Haryana STF is questioning Gurmel Baljit Singh's village Narad and family, where his grandmother Phoolo Devi said that the family had evicted her many years ago. She says that now she has nothing to do with Gurmel.

 

This case not only points towards the political and criminal nexus, but also highlights the growing activity of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the threat of organised crime.

 

Gurmel Baljit Singh's grandmother Phulo Devi said, "It has been three-four months since Gurmel left from here. We have no contact with him. He did not tell us anything before leaving. We have evicted Gurmel many years ago. He is dead for us. We are dead for him. Some time ago he went to jail in a murder case. How did he come out of jail? Who got him out? We do not know this. Gurmel may be shot dead. We have nothing to do with him."
