AAP’s Hands Tainted in Rs. 2026 Crore Liquor Scam: Anurag Singh Thakur

January 19, 2025 05:20 PM

New Delhi: Former Union Minister, MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur constituency, and star campaigner for the Delhi Assembly elections, Anurag Singh Thakur, held Panna Pramukh conferences in Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad constituencies, meeting with party workers.

Addressing the gatherings, Thakur alleged that “leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including its chief Arvind Kejriwal and former liquor minister Manish Sisodia, have been implicated in the Rs. 2026 crore liquor scam in Delhi. The CAG report has revealed that AAP’s liquor policy led to fiscal losses, violated policy objectives, and caused a massive revenue deficit. Kejriwal must answer why this policy, touted as beneficial, was withdrawn and why it was implemented without the approval of the cabinet or the Lieutenant Governor. The Rs. 2026 crore revenue loss suffered by Delhi is solely Kejriwal’s responsibility, as he is the true mastermind behind this scam.”

Thakur further stated, “When the Lieutenant Governor insisted on tabling the CAG report in the Assembly, why has the Chief Minister, Atishi Marlena, failed to do so? The report contains details of all their scams, from the construction of the lavish ‘Sheesh Mahal’ to the liquor scam. Voters must recall how, 11 years ago, Kejriwal promised to refrain from buying big houses, cars, or taking security. Today, he lives in a sprawling ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ drives the biggest cars, has security from two states, and has committed multiple scams. AAP’s leader of sins, Kejriwal, cannot even project himself as the Chief Ministerial candidate, leaving the party without a single credible face for this election.

“Kejriwal must answer why the CAG report, highlighting these ten glaring issues, has not been presented. Why were rules ignored, and why was the cabinet and LG’s approval bypassed? While Delhi faced a Rs. 2026 crore revenue loss, who profited from this scam?” Thakur concluded.
