Kapurthala : To mark the 555th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji on November 15, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal today asked the officials of various departments to perform the duty with “Sewa Bhawna “ so that devotees should not face any problem during this religious event in the holy city.
Today, during a meeting with the officials of the concerned departments at DAC here, the Deputy Commissioner said that in view of the large number of devotees coming, a control room number 01828-222169 has also been established to facilitate people.
Apart from this, 6 duty magistrates have also been deputed to maintain law and order. He also asked the police officials to set up police control rooms as well as provide adequate parking, entry arrangements and e-rickshaws for the convenience of people.He also said that all necessary arrangements should be made for Nagar Kirtan.
Police officials have informed that for devotees coming via Talwandi chaudriyan, the parking would be at PUDA colony whereas for people coming via RCF, parking would be at grain market Sultanpur Lodhi.
Besides that the Bus stand has been shifted at the grain market from November 13 to 16 on a temporary basis to ease out the traffic.
Under medical services, health department teams will set up medical booths at Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib, Guru Nanak Stadium, Lohian Road and Talwandi Bridge. Besides that emergency medical services will be provided at Civil Hospital sultanpur lodhi along with back up services at Tibba CHC.
Similarly, an adequate number of ambulances and fire brigade vehicles will also be available. He also directed the municipal council officials to ensure cleanliness in the city twice in a day .
Apart from this, street lights should be kept in working condition and public toilets should be regularly cleaned, DC added .
Taking stock of the preparations from the officials of the sports department regarding the Kabaddi tournament to be held at Guru Nanak Stadium on the occasion of Gurpurab,Deputy Commissioner said that all preparations should be made in the stadium for the convenience of the teams and spectators. He also directed the P.S.P.C.L. officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply from November 13 to November 16 and repair loose/bare electrical wires etc.
The Deputy commissioner also instructed officials to deploy NDRF divers to avoid any untoward incident .
On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Varinderpal Singh Bajwa, SDM. Sultanpur Lodhi Aparna, SP Gurpreet Singh and officials of all departments were present.
